Book Restoration and bookbinding
We are able to offer sympathetic book restorations at the highest standard. Whether it is a well worn favourite novel, family bible, heirloom or a priceless rare antiquarian book we are able to restore most books back to their former glory.

We ensure that we retain as much of the original book as possible and can even rebind books whilst retaining the original covers and spines if they are able to be preserved. The majority of our work is done by hand using traditional bookbinding methods and 23.5ct gold leaf (scroll down to bottom of page for more photos and detailed examples of our work).

Custom designed book boxes
We are able to make storage boxes that imitate books. Custom made book boxes can be designed to fit an existing book you already have or sized depending to your needs. You may wish to store your Ipad or e-reader as an example therefore we can size the box to fit this exactly. There are many options of finish such as full leather, half leather and marble paper or cloth. This really depends on your requirements and budget, the options are endless therefore please contact us to discuss your needs.

Standard book boxes
We also make a variety of standard faux book boxes designed to imitate antique books. These are all handmade made using genuine leather, hand marbled paper and finished to a high standard in 23.5ct gold leaf. The lining is a velvety mock suede that gives it a luxurious feel. The dimensions are 23.2cm x 14.2cm x 3cm.
These would make a handsome addition to any library with the added bonus of being hidden storage for valuables or important documents such as passports etc. A personalised book box would make a wonderful gift for family or friends especially for occasions such as Weddings, Christenings, Birthdays or Christmas. Companies could offer these as gifts for corporate clients and customers and even include their company logo for an additional fee.
We have a variety of designs to choose from in our standard book box range and you can customise the titles for free or keep the original.

See example 1 - The covers and spine had come apart from the main binding of this Victorian Bible. We were able to reattach the original covers and spine whilst reinforcing the binding so it will be preserved for many years to come.

Sometimes old books deteriorate to such a degree that some covers and spines are not able to be saved. In this instance we will rebind in a style sympathetic to the era of the original. See example 2, the cover could not be saved therefore we have replaced the entire cover in a style sympathetic to the age of this book.

If the cover is completely missing we will rebind in a style most suitable to the period of the original binding or to the customers requirements. See example 3, we have rebound this book in a completely new binding with leather spine and corners and a cloth cover. The spine is very detailed with gold panels known as a full run up gilt back.

We are able to to restore most books back to their former glory however large or small. Family bibles and antiquarian books are our speciality however we are also able to repair modern bindings including school text books, music books, any type of book that has fallen apart or seen better days.
You will find our prices very reasonable as we are a small family run business therefore we do not have factory running costs or employee wages to pay.
